We just celebrated our 25th anniversary and Preview though it would be a good opportunity to put the spotlight back on local fashion. So for this year’s virtual celebration, we asked celebrities and influencers to wear an outfit by their favorite local designer or brand. Their choices ranged from iconic couturiers to emerging local brands and designers.
Below, we rounded up 10 celebrities to share the reason behind their double-tap worthy ‘fits for the #Preview25HouseParty!
For the celebrity doctor, it’s all about how a dress fits. "I discovered Patricia Santos and she is so beautiful. She knows the female body so well this dress is ready to wear," Vicki shares. She casually declared about this LWD that “it’s [liposuction], but a dress” because it hugs her in all the right places and slims her down. The singer and actress wore the most interesting printed suit that looked like splashes of dreamy watercolor. Made by her stylist and dear friend Daryl Maat, Glaiza thought that a suit would be an unexpected choice for a celebration.
The model and beauty queen picked a set of cool black co-ords from designer Boom Sason. Her look was composed of a trendy bikini top and high-waisted bike shorts that were tailored to perfection. Christi mentioned that it was the perfect outfit to show off some skin without sacrificing comfort. Her outfit fit her like a glove, and it's no wonder she’s a Boom Sason devotee.
“It’s an international brand but owned by a Filipino,” Iñigo shares about his chic silk pajamas from Privé Alliance. The New York based streetwear label is the brainchild of Filipino stylist and fashion editor Danyl Generican and K-pop star Baekhyun of EXO. For Kris Bernal, it was all about dressing like herself: an actress, fitness enthusiast, and entrepreneur. She picked a comfy red short suit from local brand Light Shine White that she paired with a flirty pink bikini top. "It’s actually made of silk and wool blended together," Kris shares. The TikTok sensation was more than excited for her first ever Preview event. She opted for a custom monochrome outfit by designer Avel Bacudio, with a bold “AVEL” applique. The actress proudly flaunted the elongating outfit that looked like second skin.
The young singer and actress’ cool corset clad outfit paired with Tan Gan x HAMU pants and topped off with a statement ear cuff from Farrah Abu definitely landed her a spot on our Best Dressed list. She particularly loves the Habi corset that she thinks gives her look a streetwear touch.
For YouTuber Arabella Racelis aka ThatsBella, she went for a dressy yet casual ensemble from Mark Bumgarner. Since a virtual party requires you to sit in front of your computer, Bella went for shocking pink wide-legged trousers which she posed with in an “after-party” Instagram OOTD.
For the sultry singer, Mica opted for a sleek yet loungey suit from Chris Nick, which is a signature lewk from the designers. She also revealed that she loves a beautifully-cut suit and that this stood out for her because it was perfect to wear even under the heat.
For the former Miss Universe candidate, she chose one of her favorite pieces by designer Rhett Eala. "This is my go-to blazer because I easily feel cold all the time. It's my favorite one to bring with me whenever I travel. It’s hand-stitched actually and I love that it’s locally made." If you have a statement jacket like this, there's no need to buy something new for an event. Watch her talk more about her outfit below:
"It's from my bestfriend’s label called Balud Maynila," Jasmine shares, "They started out with swimwear and they actually just launched lounge wear." Her dainty white loungewear set was definitely one of the most memorable outfits from the party. "It's perfect for the beach or if you're just at home chilling lang, and being comfy. You don't have to wear a bra when you wear it." No bra, no problem! Watch Jas talk more about her outfit below:
For beauty queen Nicole Cordoves, the Preview 25 House Party was a chance to let her personal style shine. Opting for a simple but sexy matching bandeau and skirt look from local brand Just Bonita, Nicole reveals that she loves everything about this 'fit. It’s minimal, comfy, and Nicole also thinks that the color enhances her morena skin tone. We definitely think so, too.
