Last August, we got to chat with Cassy Legaspi over Zoom and she revealed her mom, Carmina Villaroel-Legaspi, often encourages her to swipe designer goodies from her closet. Cassy's not as much of a luxury aficionado, which suits her just fine. However, if we were in her place, we'd totally borrow items from Carmina's curated closet, especially after we watched her shoe collection vlog! She sat down to go through her top ten favorite steppers, and here's what we found out: 1) she loves her classics, 2) she loves comfort, and 3), if she likes a shoe enough, she'll get multiple pairs in different colors!
She wears a size 9, and advised shoe lovers to always fit a pair before buying it–what's comfy for one person, she said, might not be comfortable for you, since everyone's feet are shaped differently. This is why she makes sure to cop all the best colors of a pair she falls in love with, because it'll be worth it in the long run. Her advice: Once you find a pair that fits perfectly, stick with it!

According to Carmina, this timeless, classy pair is so comfy that she can wear it for hours and hours! For this reason, she has pairs in black, red, and blue. So chic!

2. J'ADior Slingbacks
Carmina has four pairs of Dior's famed comma-heel slingbacks, not counting her black pair of J'ADior flats. In addition to this pair in black technical fabric, she also has two of the patent calfskin ones, (one in nude, and one in red), and another black pair in woven satin, (which actually belongs to Cassy).

3. Chanel Ballerina Flats
An immortal fan favorite! This pair was actually gifted to Carmina by a luxury shopper. She's so lucky–this pair increases in value every year, and is definitely a highly-coveted item from Chanel.

4. YSL Tribute Wedge Sandals
She has this beachy espadrille in three classic colors: White, black and caramel. "Pag meron akong nagustuhan na isang style or isang brand, kung pwedeng kunin yung mga basic colors kinukuha ko na po lahat," she said. We would totally do the same. Since certain designer pairs are guaranteed to last a lifetime, they'll surely prove to be worth the investment.

5. Louis Vuitton Sail Away Wedge Sandals
Another pair of wedge espadrilles. This particular Louis Vuitton pair is in blue, one of Carmina's top three fave colors. (In case you're wondering, her other favorites are red and pink.)

For now, she only has one pair in black, but she's not complaining: It's a classy pair that's comfy, too, just like all her other favorite pairs. One feature of this shoe that we're especially loving is the wavy strap. So unique!

Carmina copped this trendy Bottega Veneta pair just recently–around January to March of 2020. Yup, right before lockdown. Given this, she hasn't gotten to wear them yet, sadly! To break 'em in, she confessed that she walked around the house in them.

8. Miu Miu Metal Cap Toe Sneakers
These Miu Miu sneakers are her go-to for malling, going to the cinema, and traveling–before the pandemic, that is. She has them in white and black, too, and claims that they're so worth it. In addition to wearing them during trips, she also sported this silver platform number during the premiere of her latest horror film, Sunod.

9. Louis Vuitton Archlight Sneakers
It was actually her son Mavy who convinced her to buy these super-cool LV Archlight Sneakers. Who wouldn't be smitten by the pair's distinctive shape? It's an optical-illusion chunky shoe that tricks the eye into seeing it as slender. Definitely a favorite.

Last but not the least, she showed off this spunky pair of Dior Sneaker-Boots, which she always brings during overseas trips. Given their thick canvas material, she pairs them with thermal leggings when she and her family travel to particularly cold destinations.
