Two local brands—online retailer Tilda and designer Carl Jan Cruz—have joined forces to bring you a collection that highlights the "aesthetic of intelligent anti-fashion with a high appreciation for craftsmanship and fabric," Tilda owner, Christine Dychiao tells Preview.
"Speaking on a personal capacity, my partners and I are huge fans of CJ, and we just can't get enough of his designs," she shares. "At such a young age, he already has a strong design core, never deviating from what is clear to him—a unique, elegantly raw aesthetic that draws upon his Filipino roots."

And so, their collaboration is expected to produce a special edit of the local designer's work. Expect CJ's iconic pieces like "the Cruz Free Cuff Jeans, the Jan Shell Jacket, [and some] items from his current collection like the Kabog Ruffled Half-Corset and the Ramil Drawstring Vest (that comes in a special pale pink colorway)," Christine adds. Additionally, you can find some archival CJ pieces, too, like the Liya Carpenter with open side seams.

The pop-up collection also includes other brands that best highlight CJ's pieces. "We imagined how our clients would wear Carl Jan Cruz," she says. For this, they brought in "complementary footwear and accessories like the Glove flats and Muller mules by Martiniano, croc slides by Maryam Nassir Zadeh, bow flats and heels by N21, sustainably produced sneakers by Veja, wooden soled sandals by Ancient Greek that are reminiscent of the bakyas we all used to wear in the '70s and '80s, plus some cool accessories by cult label Clare V. to round up the presentation," shares Christine.

The Carl Jan Cruz x Tilda edit will be made available from October 20 to 21. You can view and shop the collection at the Artesania Furniture showroom in Makati City from 1o a.m. to 7 p.m.
