Wait 'til you see it.

After Alber Elbaz's departure from the brand last year, the fashion world held its breath for his successor. With a fourteen year stint under his belt, he'd be a tough act to follow. So how did French designer Bouchra Jarrar fare?

Lazy, languid suiting, with an ease bordering on pajama dressing made fashion girls swoon (this fashion girl included,) and set the tone for the whole collection. Bouchra added her special touch of Parisian tailoring to her silk trousers, biker jackets, and slim blazers, tieing into the house's feminine spirit.

Another star on Lanvin's runway? Slip dresses cemented their longevity in sheer and embellished reiterations. Although Bouchra's versions were completely see-through and styled with #FreetheNipple sensibilities, we see delicious summer layering opportunities that hubaderas would love to take part in.

And what's Lanvin without accoutrements? Floral touches in brooch and necklace form, pussy bows, and  feathers adorned the collection, sealing the brand's reputation for embellishments. What we especially enjoyed was the use of thread-like chains throughout the collection. Some took the place of a tie and were worn under the collar, others dripped from model's hands as they strut the runway, some even served as necklaces, providing subtle glitz to an otherwise somber ensemble.

So far things are looking good for the renowned fashion house. And although Alber will definitely be missed, we can't wait to see what else Bouchra has in store for us.
