What made you want to try this trend?
I never really saw myself out trying this trend, but hey, never say never. It took me quite a while to finally give this challenge a go.
How do you build your outfit around it?
It's quite easy to style with--pairing it with basic tees, tank tops, pretty much anything that doesn't have a collar. Plus, you could play around with different designs be it a Peter Pan collar, embellished, leather, studded, printed; the list goes on.
How do you make the look your own?
Everyone's wearing this trend; the only way to make it look “you” is to inject some elements that are very much identifiable as yours. Whatever your signature look is, add a new touch with a detachable collar!
How do you balance your outfit to avoid making it look over-the-top?
I don't accessorize too much! Keeping everything minimal so all pieces won't look like they are competing with each other. It is important that they blend and compliment. That way, it's never over-the-top.
Can you give tips on how to wear this trend?
Pair it with a skirt for a feminine look, or add a blazer for an androgynous feel. You can also wear it with your tube dress. There are tons of options, really.
How would you wear it during the day, at night, to a party, to work?
For the day, I'd prefer wearing it with brogues or ballet flats for a simple summer feel. A party look would have to be wearing leather pants, pumps, and blazer for an edgy look.
