If you've ever wondered what Lady Liberty would look like in real life, Blake Lively's look at this year's Met Gala has the answer.
Taking the "gilded glamor" theme to heart, the event's co-chair stunned in an opulent Atelier Versace ensemble. The dress was covered in intricate copper mosaic details, and cinched by an enormous rose gold sash at the waist. She finished the look with pink opera gloves, emerald dangling earrings, and last but not the least, a tiara.
But the drama didn't stop there. As Blake was making her way up the Met's steps, the actress' second look was unveiled. Men in suits approached her and undid her sash, revealing a long, gilded aquamarine train. Her gloves did a quick-change to match, too.
According to Vogue Australia, Blake's look was an homage to New York City architecture. The mosaic details are a reference to the buildings on the city skyline, while the quick-change is a nod to the greenish color or "patina" that forms on certain metals overtime.

It goes without saying that Blake set the bar high for all the guests this year. She was perfectly in-theme and nailed it—not that we expected anything less from the perpetually best-dressed actress, of course.
