Much like certain brands of sneakers, combat boots, and high heels, Birkenstock—known primarily for their signature sandals—has a dedicated following that swoons over every new style and collaboration that the German footwear brand puts out. Well Birkenstock fans, in case you've failed to keep up with their latest releases, then get ready to start re-calculating your monthly budget because you'll want to make room for their new Kyoto Suede Sandals!
The easiest way to spot a Birkenstock sandal is by its signature footbed, which was first developed in 1896. Inspired by the shape of a footprint left in the sand, it was built to ensure maximum comfort with a snug fit and all-around support. True to their heritage, the brand's latest style incorporates the classic footbed in the brown color its most associated with. Up top, you'll see a strap that offers more coverage compared to other popular Birkenstock silhouettes like the Arizona or the Madrid. The Kyoto takes inspiration from the Zürich model. In place of the usual buckle, it features a Velcro closure that you can adjust to get the perfect fit.

What makes Birkenstock's latest pairs stand out are the camouflage pattern seen on the strap. Rock the print in its classic army-green shade on this pair, which contrasts the camo pattern with a deep navy blue color known as Midnight. Pairing both shades with the rustic brown on the sole and footbed makes for a sandal with a distinctly earthy aesthetic and a classic look despite the stand-out design elements.

Those of you who love versatile nude colorways would likely prefer the Kyoto in Gray Taupe. Despite the muted shades, the pair maintains an overall warm tone. It's finished off with a camouflage print that brings together various shades of ecru, beige, and peanut.
