Going to the ukay-ukay is no different than partaking in a treasure hunt. It requires you to rummage through items that are charming and valuable, yet almost forgotten. Time, energy, and effort have to be dedicated to achieve your sartorial vision—a true treasure that not everyone has.
Beyond the thrill of the hunt, thrift shopping helps cut expenses, reduces waste, and gives pre-loved pieces a second chance. Every article of clothing carries a story, and a visit to the thrift store helps you discover the ones that resonate with you.
So where do these treasure hunts take place? Preview asked stylish creatives to reveal their favorite thrift stores—the places where they discover pieces that seamlessly fit into their carefully curated wardrobes. Find out below!

“Ciao Grazie in Las Piñas. EJ Nacion introduced me to it, and I've kept going back ever since.
“It’s huge, but it never feels cramped, even with how much they have. They’ve got aircon and shopping carts, which you’ll probably end up needing. They have a dedicated section for branded pieces, but most of my favorite finds weren’t even from there.”

“One of my favorite places to go to is Anonas Ukay-Ukay. It’s such a cool place to find unique pieces. There was even a time I found a pair of Miu Miu heels there; I wish they were my size!”

“As a hardcore ukay-goer for more than a decade, Cubao has always been a great place for thrift finds. But Fashion Depot on Gen. Romulo takes it to a bigger scale. Literally.
“Not for the faint of heart, the former supermarket is now converted into two floors of racks and racks of clothes, with designer pieces and your next-favorite-finds waiting to be found. From finding vintage Prada to museum-worthy Mugler, the place is a true gold mine for fashion lovers.
“Pro-tip: Set aside a day for this, as it can get incredibly overwhelming!”

“A hidden gem for thrifting is Millennial’s Fashion Boutique in San Pedro, Laguna. It’s basically a huge warehouse with so many unique finds.
“I usually head straight to the New Arrivals section because you get first dibs on the best pieces. It’s a little more expensive since they’re newly stocked, but I honestly think it’s worth it.”

“I thrift-flipped these lace pants for Coachella, and I actually found them years ago at a thrift store in Intramuros, famously known as the old UST building.”

“One of my go-tos is still MCS [also known as Makati Cinema Square or Makati Central Square] in Chino Roces. There are a lot of air-conditioned thrift stores inside, so it’s very convenient.
“There’s some really good food too when you get hungry, like Aida’s Chicken House for inasal or Sen Lek for a good pad thai!”

“Must visit Isetann Recto or the ukays in Intramuros! The stores are big, and I always find quality items. Some of my most-used bags are from both places.”

“Honestly, going to the Ukay-Ukay Hub is one of my highlights whenever I go to Tagaytay! There’s a huge selection of clothes, and it’s a warehouse, so there’s something for everyone.
“My tip is you would have to spend at least two to three hours here to find some gems, since it’s not curated. I usually go for button downs, staple tops, and dresses because they’re so unique!”
