The brightest and most talented stars have gathered last night at the 50th Guillermo Mendoza Box Office Awards Night. The said awarding ceremony aims to recognize local celebrities for their efforts and excellence in film and television, and their presence and influence on social media. Below, take a look at the evening's big winners who not only impressed us with their craft but also with their red carpet styles.
Anne was awarded the Golden Jury Award for Excellence as Millennial Multimedia Entertainer. For this special night, Anne took the classic and timeless route. She took notes from Old Hollywood glamour for her hair and makeup done by Raymond Santiago and Ting Duque, respectively. Michael Leyva made her an elegant black gown to match, which Anne punctuated with some sparkle care of Jul B. Dizon's opulent jewelry.
Kath looked dainty in her Vania Romoff gown that featured a sweetheart bustier, voluminous sheer sleeves, and a fitted bodice with a drop-waist silhouette. Her stylist Jan Aranilla accessorized her nude gown with Tessera jewelry and pointy-toed pumps, all of which complemented sun-kissed skin. Needless to say, she glowed under the spotlight when she and Daniel Padilla went onstage to receive their awards: the Phenomenal Stars of Philippine Cinema and the Golden Jury Award for Highest Grossing Film of All Time.
Jodi Sta. Maria
Jodi Sta. Maria hosted the night in a pink Carolina Herrera number, which lent the actress a taller frame thanks to the gown's clean lines and minimalist design.
Judy Ann Santos-Agoncillo
Judy Ann walked into the ceremony looking like a lady boss in her Orias Studios striped navy suit. We like how she ditched the usual floor-length gowns and went for a well-tailored androgynous suit for the red carpet.
Maine Mendoza also opted for pants as she received the 2019 Box Office Queen award. She traded the classic LBD for a flared jumpsuit featuring a feather-trimmed neckline. So chic!
Yam received her TV Actress of the Year for Primetime award clad in a slinky Cheetah Rivera dress. We can't tell which part we like the most about the gown, TBH: the barely-there straps, the perfect-fitting bustier, the thigh-high slit, or its emerald hue? We think it's all of the above!
Kim Chiu took her glam look up a notch, and why wouldn't she when she's being hailed as 2019's Best Actress of the Year? She wore a fully embellished silver gown featuring a sweetheart neckline and a high slit, instantly giving her legs for days.
Congrats to all the winners!
