To give a powerful boost to their Bench/Active collection this season, Bench has brought in New York-based designer Willy Chavarria, a fresh name on the international fashion scene who's gaining traction for his workwear pieces heavily inspired by traditional work uniforms and jail clothing.
On his collaboration with Bench, Willy reveals that he liked "[working] with people who also do philanthropy work or do work that helps other causes." He explains, "That's one of the things that we agreed on when we did the collection." The aforementioned collection is all about an aesthetic that would focus on "empowering people and we wanted to do that together," he adds. The result is Willy's sartorial DNA: "masculine, empowered, and welcoming" exemplified through street wear pieces that are highly "democratic and accessible" made especially with the Filipino market in mind.
