Before #AlDubEBforLove and #AlDubEBTamangPanahon, getting the hit Kalyeserye love team Maine Mendoza and Alden Richards together in one room seemed highly impossible. Even when cameras are off, Lola Nidora just wouldn’t approve. If you haven’t read the fine print, you’re probably wondering how on earth were we able to pull a stunt like this. And to tell you honestly, it took a whole lot of planning and coordinating just to put it together. Here’s a chronicle of how the day went:
1pm – The team leaves the office in separate batches: one headed to Sulo Hotel where Alden was, the other to a secret location in Tomas Morato where Maine was getting prepped.
3pm – Team Alden was halfway done with the cover shoot, lensed by Paolo Pineda and styled by Vince Uy. Preview’s Editorial Assistant Yanna Lopez joins in on the fun as Maine’s stand-in.
4pm – A stealthy Yaya Dub arrives at another secret location where her transformation begins care of makeup artist Owen Sarmiento and hairstylist Mark Familara. The peg: soft, sultry eyes and dewy skin with a lush blow-out ala Lana del Rey.
6:30pm – Alden is just about to wrap up shooting as Maine finishes with hair and makeup. Team Maine then waits for Alden’s departure before they can move to the shoot location.
7:30pm – Team Maine arrives on location and her segment of the shoot begins as she slips into pieces from Gucci’s Cruise 2016 collection. Associate Art Director Eugene David steps in for Alden.
11pm – Six outfit changes later, the team finally calls it a day!
11:05pm – But before we all went home, Maine just HAD to meet the “other woman.”
