Bea Alonzo is one of those actresses who have an expansive designer wardrobe—from luxury bags and shoes to custom local designer dresses, she has always been a fashion girl at heart.
That being said, we all know how the pandemic has changed almost everyone's shopping habits and priorities drastically. Impulse-buying luxury items is no longer a thing, and celebrities like Kathryn Bernardo, Pia Wurtzbach, and even Kris Aquino have been vocal about lessening their designer splurges. Now, we can add Bea to that list.

In an interview with Preview during a Summit Sandwich Session, the actress shared how the quarantine and binge-watching Mari Kondo videos have changed her mindset when it comes to luxury purchases. "This [pandemic] really pushed us to go back to the basics. And right now, I really want to promote sustainable fashion. Meaning, use whatever you have in the closet, and be more creative [in terms of styling] and be more fashionable [with what you have]," the actress explained. She also revealed that she has actually hoarded a lot of clothes through the years!
"I recently cleaned up my closet and you know what I realized? I have so many clothes pala na I have not worn! And parang sayang naman di ba? So the quarantine really pushed me to be more creative in dressing up. But siyempre you want to be able to help the local designers, too. Natamaan din yung businesses nila with the pandemic."
She added, "But then also you want to think about not spending too much on the things you don't need. Instead of buying all those stuff, itulong mo na lang."
Through her non-profit organization I Am HOPE, the actress has been able to help out countless of medical frontliners and typhoon victims through donations in kind since last year, and she even teamed up with Netflix Philippines to donate laptops to the SOS Children's Village, an NGO that focuses on supporting kids with absentee parents and at-risk families.
