Open any Filipino household's cupboard and you're for sure going to find a metal spoon, more commonly known as a sandok. For the townspeople of Florida, Pampanga, the humble cooking utensil holds a whole lot of significance even outside the kitchen, and Jessica McEwen's awe-inspiring national costume at Binibining Pilipinas 2022 demonstrated just as much.

Dressed in silver from head to toe, Jessica paid homage to pinukpuk, the time-honored practice of creating aluminum wares from hand. Designed by Kayvan Salazar, the extravagant Filipiniana-style mermaid gown boasted of crystals, silver appliques, hand-embroidered beads, and the kitchenware fanned out across her collar.

The Kapampangan queen coined the ensemble as the Traje de Floridablanca, which pertains to its pristine white and silver color palette. "It is in celebration of [the] town's festival, the Pinukpukan Festival during the feast of their patron saint, Saint Joseph the Worker," she expounded in her Instagram post. Even her earrings were miniature spatulas!

Of course, Jessica's beauty look complemented her lustrous outfit. MJ Sanchez Bell kept her hair slicked back in a bun, and Anna Tiglao brushed on warm eyelids and glittery white eyeliner, accentuating the muse's olive-hued eyes. Gorgeous!
You looked amazing, Jessica! Good luck with the rest of the competition!
