Bamba Limon looks to home for his latest collection.

One thing we learned from this season's presentations is that one doesn't need to look too far for inspiration. The best ideas are drawn from home, from our own shores, and from our own rich and colorful culture.

Take Bamba Limon, who looked to his native Davao for his latest collection, Royal Tales. It references Filipino royalty in all its glory—opulent, regal, and, fantastical. He used Filipino weaves in vibrant colors, with fabric finishes that ranged from poppy mattes to metallic sheens. These beautiful weaves were definitely the stars of the show.

And as with any presentation that features traditional techniques, the challenge of presenting itself as modern day-appropriate arises. Bamba does this successfully through familiar silhouettes such as structured coats, knee length dresses, and long-sleeved tunics, which recur throughout his collection.
