If you haven’t watched the first two episodes of Start-Up yet, trust us when we say you need to get in on it, stat! Netflix’s newest K-drama, starring Bae Suzy and Nam Joo Hyuk, not only boasts of a dream pairing with sizzling chemistry but is also equipped with a heartwarming story on family, friendship, and success. It only took one episode to make us cry, and we honestly can’t wait for what’s bound to happen next!
That said, while Start-Up is oozing with emotions and scenes that will tug at your heartstrings, you know very well that it’s a habit of ours to always zoom in on one certain aspect of the show: fashion.
Seo Dal-mi, played by Bae Suzy, is a university drop-out and part-time worker who dreams of having her own successful business. The introduction to her character shows her inside a cubicle in a public restroom, using a black marker to cover the scratches on her leather pumps that are already showing drastic signs of wear and tear. But lo and behold, while it may seem like she doesn’t have enough money to buy herself a new pair of shoes, it looks like a huge chunk of our leading lady’s budget allocation goes to designer bags instead!
Below, we round up the expensive bags we spotted Seo Dal-mi toting around in the first two episodes of our new K-drama obsession:
1. Loewe Gate Bag
The first episode featured a scene of Dal-mi taking selfies in the middle of a street lined with beautiful cherry blossom trees, and the purse slung across her shoulder is unmistakably the Loewe Gate bag in soft calfskin leather. Showcasing the Spanish fashion house’s unrivaled leather craftmanship, the Gate is a saddle-shaped crossbody bag with a distinctive knotted front belt, interior compartments, and adjustable shoulder strap. You’ll need approximately P125,000 to cop the same bag as Dal-mi.

2. Lanvin Hook Bag
Dal-mi wore classic black trousers, an oversized blazer, and a light blue button-down shirt for her first work OOTD in the drama. And to complete her seminar-ready look, our heroine finished it off with Lanvin’s no-nonsense Hook bag which could fit in all her essentials. The Italian-made bag comes with an adjustable leather shoulder strap with five holes and signature clasp, as well as a detachable inner pocket. It could be worn both as a shoulder bag or a backpack, featuring tone-on-tone topstitching and 100% calfskin leather. That’s topnotch quality you get from shelling out at least a hundred thousand bucks.

3. Salvatore Ferragamo Gancini Hobo Bag
Remember when Seo Dal-mi almost finally met Nam Do-san (Nam Joo Hyuk) for the first time? Our heroine had some denim-on-denim action going on in the fashion department. She was clad in a chambray button-down underneath a denim blazer which she paired with light-washed jeans. To complement her outfit’s overall casual vibe, she threw on Salvatore Ferragamo’s Gancini hobo bag in black calfskin leather for good measure. A functional designer bag with hand-finished edges, internal flat pockets, and shoulder strap—yours if you have a spare P68,000 in your bank account!

4. Lady Dior My ABCDior Bag
We saw the brand-new suit and nude pumps that Seo Dal-mi’s grandmother bought for her to wear at that ultra-posh networking party, but what we didn’t see coming was the designer bag she’s planning to wear them with. Our jaws dropped to the floor when she showed up with an inimitable Lady Dior as her arm candy! An iconic piece from the French luxury house, the Lady Dior is crafted with black lambskin replete with supreme quilting and signature charms in gold-finish metal. A truly timeless yet modern choice that can be carried by hand or worn crossbody or over the shoulder. The price? Just a little over P210,000. No biggie.

5. Hermès Vintage Hobo Bag
Remember that part from Episode 2 when the show featured a split screen of Seo Dal-mi and her sister Won In-jae (Kang Han Na) to showcase their contrasting lifestyles? As both chose a bag for work, In-jae picked out a Bulgari Serpenti from her collection of designer arm candies. Meanwhile, Dal-mi is seen opting for a mundane-looking hobo bag that’s more functional than stylish—don’t let your eyes fool you, though! According to @kdrama_fashion on Instagram, it’s actually a vintage Hermès bag that belonged to Suzy’s personal stylist. And since the French fashion house no longer has it in-store, we couldn’t figure out its exact price tag. That said, we did find a similar-looking one on Farfetch: a pre-owned classic hobo bag that’s available for sale at $1899, or approximately P92,257.
