Pantone pronounced Radiant Orchid as the color of the year last year, but we all know it was really baby blue. From the catwalks to the sidewalks, the pretty pastel reigned supreme, lording it over everything from pumps to parkas. And now, before Marsala takes over as the color authority's official pick for 2015, shifting the gears to a warm and earthy hue, here is our tribute to the cool and icy shade that dominated the style game last year.

London-based knitwear designer Cassandra Verity Green took cues from the hue's aquatic associations, and teamed her fuzzy version with, surprise, a fishbowl backpack!
Caroline Trentini (pictured with Racquel Zimmermann and Fei Fei Sun) shows how dreamy it is on a silk slip. Like ripples of water. ("Playing It Cool" by Annie Leibovitz for US Vogue)
Chloé pushed the prettiness even further with ruffles and gem-encrusted straps for Resort 2015.

Even baby blue backgrounds became a thing, as seen in this shot of Ashleigh Good and Andreea Diaconu for Vogue UK June 2014 (Josh Olins).
Locally, no one beat the perfectly perfect blogger Kim Jones, who hoarded various incarnations of the hue: a pair of fairy-princess heels, trousers, her Celine Trio purse, a Zara car coat, a t-shirt-cut blouse (shall we call it the tee-blouse?) or her manicure. As she would say, baby blue game strong.
