Asian Fashion Institute Home of the Designer Fashion Workshops releases their summer schedule.

You might have heard of the Designer Fashion Workshops, and might even have participated in one. The fashion industry veterans behind it—among them Inno Sotto, Jojie Lloren, and Lulu Tan-Gan—have now set up the Asian Fashion Institute (AIF) as the workshops' permanent home, a new academic establishment that will enrich the education available in Manila to those who want to work in the fashion industry, be it as designers or otherwise.

"Lamenting the lack of design identity in Philippine fashion, Lulu says AIF's goal [is] to lead Manila into becoming the next fashion hub of Asia." She says, "We'd like to extend the knowledge that there is more to [fashion] than making and selling clothes. AIF will be offering formal four-year course in Fashion Design. "Fashion subjects—from the theory of design to the history of fashion design—are introduced as early as the freshman year, and all classes apply the four key components of learning: theory, application, exposure, and mentorship."
