Antonio Banderas is reportedly set to play the role of Gianni Versace in a film about the late designer's life. The biopic, hoewever, is unauthorized. The Italian fashion house told WWD that it, "has neither authorized nor had any involvement whatsoever in the forthcoming movie about Versace. The movie should only be seen as a work of fiction."
The Legend of Zorro star, who's currently a fashion design student at Central Saint Martins, will get to shoot two birds with one stone in this latest endeavor: film and fashion. The actor enrolled at the prestigious art school in London last year and has teamed up with Scandinavian high-street brand Selected for a menswear collection. He is slated to launch a new line of suits with the same label soon.
There are no other details yet about the film and neither a release date has been set.
