Last night's Marry Me at Marriott was yet another spectacle of bridal fashion excellence. It was without a doubt a bride-to-be's dream catalog in the flesh, thanks to the talented Filipino designers who came to participate.
One of them is Michael Leyva, whose show featured Anne Curtis as one of his muses. The actress modeled a stunning red tiered gown for the designer, a true standout piece that instantly took over Instagram.
"Since I started designing, it has been my ultimate dream to dress up Anne Curtis," the designer tells Preview. "I designed a red dress for her because I believe red is her color. And red also is the color of the first ever gown I made for her."
Michael adds that he designed three dresses for Anne for the show, and this was her final choice. "I wanted it to be grand so I made this huge layered trail to match the serpentina fit of the gown," he says. And true enough, the dress was a vision on the runway. The embroidery from the bodice to the seams was incredible, and the fit highlighted Anne's curves even more.
"The embroidery is plotted on lace and beaded fabric underneath to add more sparkle on the gown. The details are beaded by hand, so that it will really look good on stage and shine," explains Michael.
And in case you're worried about its versatility, you may put those worries to rest. The trail is actually detachable! So a bride can definitely run from the church to the reception in it sans the hassle.
Being a bride-to-be herself, do you think Anne will consider a red dress for her big day?
