Shortly after the first fashion event in the lineup of activities for the Amore! Italian Festival this month, the next celebration came in the form of a party with the School of Fashion and the Arts (SoFA) and Instituto Marangoni, a leading design school from Italy. Sponsored by Armani Exchange and Diesel, the event celebrated the partnership between the two schools.
As part of the festivities, the party featured several of the country's Marangoni alumni, all of whom are recognizable names and faces in the local fashion industry today. These fashion insiders included designer Rosanna Ocampo, Louis Vuitton's Pam Picazo, stylist Pam Quiñones, as well as SoFA founders Amina Aranaz-Alunan and Loralee Baron-Soong.
"It's also our way of welcoming the future Marangoni students - those who will be going to school this year, and those who will be coming in the next years," said Amina. As Marangoni's partner in the Philippines, SoFA now provides opportunities for students to get a Filipino-European fashion education. The SoFA-Marangoni Masters program consists of 3 years in Manila plus 1 year in Milan, Paris or London, while the SoFA-Marangoni Study Abroad program includes 1 or 2 years in Manila plus a summer course in Milan, Paris or London.
