An Island For Louis Vuitton

The luxury brand ups the ante with a big concept store.
An Island For Louis Vuitton The luxury brand ups the ante with a big concept store.

In the book Deluxe: How Luxury Lost Its Luster by Dana Thomas, she talks about architecture and the boutique as a major marketing tool of any luxury retail brand. Hence the birth of the flagship store, which is generally a cut above every other boutique the brand has.

Louis Vuitton
is one brand that has mastered the art of the flagship boutique, each store in every country just about outdoing the last. The latest project may just trump them all; after all, what could possibly top having an island for a store?

That's right, the next big shopping attraction in Singapore is likely to be the Louis Vuitton island store. A part of The Shoppes at Marina Bay Sands (www.marinabaysands.com.), the new luxury shopping mall in the heart of the Central Business District that's set to be operational this year.

The flagship store will be housed in the Northern Crystal Pavilion, which, afloat on water, will not only provide a uniquely modern shopping experience but also stunning views of Marina Bay.

Other posh neighbors within the new mall are the 2-storey Chanel boutique and the Hermès store, which will carry an exclusive Sands collection.

Ed's note: the Great Singapore Sale runs from May to July. It might be a good time to plan a trip to the Lion City, yes?
