Variety recently reported that a biopic featuring Alexander McQueen and Isabella Blow is being developed by Maven Pictures. Titled The Ripper (in reference to McQueen's Jack the Ripper graduation collection from Central St. Martin's in 1992), the fashion drama will follow the storied and sometimes-tumultuous friendship of the late designer and the legendary fashion editor.
Blow, who worked for Vogue, London's Sunday Times, and Tatler, was known for championing McQueen as early as the beginning of his career, fresh from fashion school. McQueen, on the other hand, made her his muse and this relationship blossomed into a profound and dynamic fashion coupling.
Blow died at the age of 48 in 2008, and McQueen at the age of 40 in 2010, both by suicide.
