Amal Clooney brought a sharp, modern dose of red to Manila as she headlined Rappler’s Social Good Summit, wearing a look by acclaimed Cebu-born designer Monique Lhuillier. On November 16, the international human rights lawyer attended the event in the Philippine capital with her husband George Clooney, where both joined discussions on justice, media freedoms, and the use of technology in legal access.

Monique Lhuillier confirmed the outfit on Instagram, noting that the lawyer wore Spring 2026's Metallic Poppy knit set for her keynote address. In person, the sleeveless top and matching skirt read polished and unfussy—the knit texture offering structure without stiffness, the silhouette streamlined enough for the full onstage conversation.

The vivid poppy shade stood out, a color that appears throughout the designer’s Spring 2026 collection. The season focuses on distinctive surfaces and sculpted shapes, with “three-dimensional iris bouquets and abstract rose motifs” and floral brocades in bright tones. Metallic finishes—also present in Amal’s set—bring a subtle edge to the otherwise clean lines seen across the runway. The poppy colorway threads through jacquards and chiffon pieces in the collection, reinforcing it as a key palette choice for the season.

According to Rappler, the human rights lawyer underscored the challenges faced by women and journalists who try to navigate legal systems that are costly, complex, and often out of reach. She stressed the importance of protecting reporters from intimidation and abusive lawsuits, and highlighted how many women confronting violence still struggle to access basic legal support.

Amal also noted that while technology can help close some of these gaps, its impact depends on strong local partnerships—the reason she and her team met with Philippine law schools and legal groups during the visit.
