All of Celine Dion's Show-Stopping Looks at Her Paris Residency Opening Night

The Queen of Power Ballads goes on. After a six-year hiatus caused by stiff-person syndrome—a rare autoimmune neurological disorder, Celine Dion recently made a tearful comeback on the concert stage.

Kicking off her 16-day Paris residency at the Plenitude Area last September 12, the Canadian superstar displayed a series of show-stopping looks from five of the top fashion houses.

The Power of Dior

For Celine's entrance, stylist Annie Horth turned to Dior's Jonathan Anderson, who created a strapless black gown with voluminous and structural pleating. The custom piece took reference from the Francis Poulenc dress, which dates back to the House's Spring 1950 haute couture collection. Adorned on the singer's neck was a stunning Boucheron diamond necklace.

A New Schiaparelli Has Come

Next was a custom Schiaparelli number that Daniel Roseberry turned to the archives for. Inspired by the late 1930s Elsa Schiaparelli jacket, the creative director created a sculptural jacket with intricate gold detailing and cut-outs that celebrated the singer's statuesque frame.

Mirroring Celine's fun and effervescent personality, Givenchy's Sarah Burton created two standout pieces—a pink cape made of shredded organza that revealed a sparkling silver embroidered dress underneath.

To Love Tom Ford More

Juxtaposing structure and sparkle, Tom Ford's Haider Ackermann elongated Celine's long and lean frame even more with a black long-sleeved gown with a high-cut slit, which also showed off her ankle-strap heels. Did you know the singer has over 10,000 pairs of shoes?

That's the Way Alaïa Is

To close her two-and-a-half-hour show (she sang 29 songs!), Celine marveled in a custom Alaïa. Accentuating the superstar's figure perfectly, the French luxury house created a sculptured black leather bustier that continued into a velvet mermaid skirt. The look was accessorized with a chunky wrap-around bracelet, which added a textural element to the ensemble.
