Hailing from Iloilo City, Alexie Brooks is presently waving the Philippine flag at the Miss Eco International 2025 pageant. She was appointed to represent the country at the international pageant held in Egypt, where she is currently considered a front-runner for the crown.

One of the main segments of Miss Eco International is the Eco Warrior presentation, which tasks delegates to model ensembles made of recycled materials and textiles. Styled by Josh Sales, Alexie donned a conceptual look crafted our of plastic by Tata Pinuiela.

Alexie wowed audiences when she stepped out in an iridescent knee-length frock layered on top of a beaded bodysuit. The facade of the dress mimicked scales found on fish, which referenced the rich biodiversity present in the West Philippine Sea.

"The West Philippine Sea is an ecological treasure, abundant in unique aquatic life, rich coral reefs, and vital biological resources. Its reefs, covering nearly the size of Mindanao, represent 30% of our nation’s coral habitats and highlight its natural wealth," Alexie wrote in an Instagram post. In line with the aquatic motif, she donned a headpiece made entirely out of pearls and had shimmering turqouise tones on her visage.

The beauty queen underscores the threats non-biodegradable waste pose unto our seas. A closer look would show that the "scales" on her frock are bedazzled plastic spoons. The sculptural details jutting out from the garment were also made out of manufactured plastic.

"Miss Eco International Philippines honors this treasure with the West Philippine Sea Eco Wear, urging us to recycle and care for our Mother Earth," she continues her caption. "The headpiece, reminiscent of the abundant pearls of the Orient Seas, symbolizes our call to protect these natural wonders and stand as true Eco Warriors."

Suffice it to say, Alexie made a strong statement during the Eco Warrier segment. She emerged as one of the Top 6 candidates from the presentation, strengthening her case for the crown.
