In an interview with Style.com’s Chad Moore, Alexa Chung said, “It’s a weird day and age when you can tire of icons simply by overexposure.” She adds, “Which I’m sure is true of me, as well—girls being like, ‘Ugh.’”
Vogue veteran and writer Joan Didion's new Celine Campaign.
Which is exactly what we said after reading the rest of the interview, which was really about her new collab for AG Jeans. (Cute, we admit.) Ugh. In it, she said, "I was actually Googling pictures of Joan Didion right before the Céline thing, and then I was like, “There you go.” As if to give herself credit for thinking of it even before it came out.

In another interview with Style.com, she talks about her hair and says, “I’ve noticed that no matter what I do, people think I’m wearing loafers and a bob. They’ll say “Get the Alexa Chung haircut!” Wait, did she really just coin that term, like it was a thing—like how “The Rachel” was a thing?
There was also another interview, where she talked about spontaneously wanting to buy pool slides and then they came out on the runways the next season, or whatever. Well, if you decide to call your book “It” then presumably you’re convinced that you have “It.” Easy now, Alexa.
