What is that stench? Oh yeah, love is in the air—among other contagious substances, that is. In the past year or so, it seems like every high school classmate, distant cousin, and acquaintance has either tied the knot or gotten engaged. Plus, Valentine's Day is right around the corner, so the cheesy captions on social media are only going to increase in the next few weeks. We're not trying to sound bitter here, but we totally get it if some of you aren't feeling the V-Day vibes either—not that it's too late to get cuffed. But in case you're feeling down, just remember that you don't need an S.O. to feel loved—and Adidas totally agrees. Their latest sneakers are all about self-love.
The Adidas Valentine's Day-Themed Sneakers for 2022 Are All About Self-Love
Every year, Adidas drops a couple of fresh pairs in time for February to celebrate Valentine's Day. For 2022, they've revamped two of their classic styles—the Superstar and the Forum Low—with designs and colors inspired by V-Day. This time around, both pairs feature a fun twist that, while fit for this lovey-dovey season, can be enjoyed by both those who are single and those who are all coupled up.
The sportswear brand's Valentine's-themed Superstar sneakers feature all the shoe's OG design elements—the thick sole, the Three Stripes on the outer sides, the textured toecap—decked out in a fresh colorway. The predominantly white shoe sports nude accents on the side stripes and heel while the tongue features a punchy coral pink that matches the laces, which have the phrase "self love is not selfish" printed over and over in that same color. The finishing detail is a half-heart keychain on the outer side of each shoe—beige on the left and pink on the right—for that extra romantic touch.
The Valentine's-themed version of the Forum Low sports the same beige accent you'll see on the Superstar's heel and extending to the sides as well as on the vamp and on the shoe's signature removable Velcro strap up top. The laces also sport the phrase "self-love is not selfish," albeit in a powdery blue color, but the coral-pink shade can still be seen on the tongue and below the collar.
