ABS-CBN Ball 2019 is right around the corner! The industry's most awaited event of the year is happening this September 14, as announced on Star Magic's Instagram page.
Meanwhile, on Instagram stories, Lou Yanong of Pinoy Big Brother posted her personal invitation to the said ball, revealing the dress code for the evening, which is "Modern Filipiniana." As the ABS-CBN Ball celebrates its "65th anniversary of being in the service of the Filipino," it's only apt that this year's theme would be an ode to our roots.
The ABS-CBN Ball, previously known as the Star Magic Ball, had been enforcing a strict black-and-white dress code for years. This rule was often broken by celebrity risk-takers, but it was only last year that this was officially waived. Now, given the new and interesting dress code, we're all the more excited for what local celebrities will wear on this special night! Kathryn Bernardo, for one, hinted that she might be donning a Michael Cinco creation.
The event is also set to continue its partnership with Bantay Bata 163. Last year, the attendees showed their support by donning blue ribbons on their outfits, a symbol that signifies the reopening of Bantay Bata's Children's Village. This time around, the ball will be "dedicated to support its Bantay Edukasyon program [which aims to empower] the youth through scholarships."
