Bianca King’s four-floor, two bedroom townhouse is a true work of a minimalist. Filled with all things clean, white, and simple, the actress/ food blogger was able to maximize her small space with just the essentials to make her house feel like a home. And just like us, Bianca had to save before she was able to get a place she can call her own. “For five years I didn’t shop and travel! I was preparing to buy a house. Everything I earned in showbiz basically went to this house.”
The fourth floor is the rooftop great for parties or stargazing.
She describes her humble abode as Shabby Chic, inspired by the design conceptualized by British interior designer Rachel Ashwell of shabbychic.com. Shabby because she got old furniture from her parent’s house and junk shops, and chic as she mixed it with modern accents and clean design elements.
She turned her lola's baul into a coffee table.
Shabby chic style is synonymous with the color white. Go ahead and layer varying shades of white on walls, furniture pieces, and accents. As for the decorating, instead of having one distinct piece, opt for grouping small, simple items together.
Tip: White is easy to clean with regular household bleach. Just do it regularly.
Bianca made use of her resources by getting furniture from her parents' house and vacation house in Batangas, enlisting the help of friend/ interior designer, Robin da Roza (who is Martine Cajucom's brother btw), and even customizing a few pieces herself. Think less of having one distinct piece and more of grouping small, simple items together.
