Remember going to the carnival when you were a little kid? Happy Andrada certainly does. The avant-garde designer recently took everyone on trip down memory lane with Perya, a whimsical fashion fête inspired by the Filipino carnival.

Showcasing all the cotton candy, clowns, and carousels of yore, Perya made good on its promise of art, entertainment, and of course, fashion. All night long, guests were treated to games and prizes, but the real fun began when the lights dimmed for the show.

It was a collaborative effort between Happy, artist Paolo Icasas, accessories designer Dennis Celestial, photographer Darrel Pobre, graphic designer Happydays, Schu, Hat Momma, Maverick by Design, Ang INK, Lomomanila, De La Salle University Pops Orchestra, Musicality Dance group and DJ Funk Avy. The show also featured real perya artists—actual jugglers, fire eaters, unicyclists, acrobats worked it on the runway.

With names like "The Knife Woman," "Baraha," and "Barker Man," each couture creation took inspiration from carnival acts. Marked by Happy's signature geometric constructions and punk rock style, the theatrical collection was filled with fantasy-driven, quirky pieces. People didn't have to wait long before getting their hands on the clothes, as each piece went up for bids in a silent auction that took place after the show.
