A Closer Look At Marian Rivera's Engagement Ring We just had to—it's from Harry Winston!

By now we’re sure you’ve heard (it was trending!) that the primetime King and Queen, Marian Rivera and Dingdong Dantes, are officially engaged. Dingdong proposed to Marian on her namesake Saturday-night TV show in front of their respective families and the rest of the country and of course we couldn’t help but go digging for more. Tears were shed, lots of kisses were given, and their overwhelming love for each other breached our television screens; everything was perfect, including the fashion! While her dress and shoes are another story, we zoom in on one the most important parts of a proposal: the ring!

From what we saw, Dingdong gave Marian a Classic Winston™, Emerald-Cut Diamond Engagement Ring. What made it even better was the fact that he said in an interview that he picked out the ring himself! We’re proud of you man, you chose well.

Scroll down as we dissect the engagement ring Philippine TV is currently talking about.

There are two main things to consider when choosing a ring—the diamond and the setting. Just like Brad Pitt (for Angelina) and Prince Rainier III of Monaco (for Grace Kelly), Dingdong chose an emerald-cut diamond for the woman he wants to spend forever with. Originally developed from the aesthetic of an emerald gem, this particular cut is rectangular with cropped corners and stair-step-like facets. The ring was kept simple and timeless with complementing baguette side stones on top of a classic platinum setting. We’re no jewelry experts, but if you ask us, a platinum setting is a great choice because it will never fade or change color, ever. Don't you think it’s the perfect representation of how the love of the gorgeous couple will remain in the years to come?

Just remember ladies (or should we address this to the men?), in the wise words of Harry Winston himself, "people will stare, make it worth their while.”
