The dog days of summer are over. And as we eagerly prepare our booties and chic jackets for the rain showers, we first look back to the season that was—an eclectic mix of different trends.

Before you leave your bikinis behind—and lace up those military-inspired boots—reminisce the last three months with a summary of the top ten trends the girls of Summer 2010 were wearing.

Summer 2010 Summary of Trends:

Summer wasn't only about bright, vivid colors but also vibrant prints. Florals led the pack and were in full bloom from classic daisies and roses to graphic abstractions. Iconic stripes gave off that effortlessly cool, summer vibe in either nautical monotones or fun, candy colors. Dots were also in the fashion front lines for that girls-just-wanna-have-fun look. And a little further down the spectrum, were ferosh animal prints in varying hues and scales.

The sweet look of Lolita equipped with provocative subtleties, as well as the elegant and modern take on lace and lace details, was definitely a favorite. Fashionistas also showed the right way to go nude with pale palettes, blush hues, neutrals and muted colors. And—a little coy, a little sexy—the sweetheart neckline highlighted many a décolletage.

Finally, the gals kept their gams uncovered with casual chic denim shorts—paired with just about everything, even wearing it to the clubs. But for easy dressing with loads of oomph, they turned to the all-in-ones—jumpsuits, playsuits, rompers—dare we say, a genius piece of clothing.
