To Dye For

Tie-dye is making waves this summer.
To Dye For Tie-dye is making waves this summer.

Tie-dye has faded back into prime time fashion, seen on mini dresses, circle skirts, and even espadrilles. Unlike the retro mix of high-contrast colors that the flower children of the '70s popularized, this year's incarnation sticks to a monochromatic palette. Denim blue seems to be the more popular shade but bleached black or mocha fabrics have also been spotted. The one common thing is the relaxed, hippie vibe it lends to even the most sophisticated pieces.
