The 56th Baeksang Arts Awards is here, and in case you’re not aware, it’s basically the Oscars of South Korea that annually honors outstanding achievements in their entertainment industry. That said, we waited with bated breath as to who will bag the awards—and now that the results are in, we can’t help but also zoom in on the red carpet looks that were served!
As expected, our favorite K-drama stars dressed to the nines! They not only delivered impressive performances in their respective shows, but they also showed up on the red carpet clad in jawdropping designer looks.
So without further ado, below, we rounded up the K-drama leading ladies you’re itching to see on the red carpet for this year’s Baeksang Arts Awards:
Crash Landing on You's Son Ye Jin in Ralph Lauren
The CLOY heiress practiced restraint and opted for a simple slip dress for her red carpet appearance—but not just any slip dress, mind you! She chose a sequined number from Ralph Lauren's Pre-Fall 2019 collection punctuated by a statement pair of dangling diamond earrings.
Itaewon Class' Kim Da Mi in Fendi
Itaewon Class' leading lady brought home the Best New Actress award for her portrayal of Jo Yi Seo, and she went up onstage clad in a tiered ivory frock from Fendi's Pre Fall 2020 collection.
Hotel del Luna's IU in Gucci
Don't you think this look is totally reminiscent of her now-iconic character in Hotel del Luna? IU showed up in a floor-length dove grey gown from Gucci's Spring/Summer 2020 lineup, and Jang Man-wol must be proud.
A World of Married Couple's Han So Hee in Alex Perry
A subtly demure yet somewhat still daring choice! Han So Hee opted for a skintone-colored full gown with black tulle overlay by Australian fashion label Alex Perry.
A World of Married Couple's Kim Hee Ae in Alexander McQueen
Kim Hee Ae may look sugary sweet in her cotton candy pink Alexander McQueen frock and Cartier jewelry to boot, but don't let your guard down because Dr. Ji turned out to be a force to be reckoned with—she bagged the Best Actress trophy, after all.
When the Camellia Blooms' Gong Hyo Jin in Burberry
Gong Hyo Jin suited up for the red carpet, and we wouldn't have it any other way! This sleek and chic Burberry look that gave her legs for days definitely scored an A+ in our books.
Vagabond's Bae Suzy in Dior
Hosting the event was none other than the perpetually stylish Bae Suzy, whose white dress of choice came with a cowl neckline and an electric pleated skirt—an ethereal number courtesy of Dior!
Later on, the actress changed into yet another stunning look, letting down her fringe to frame her face and play things up in the beauty department. Once again donning a Dior creation, Bae Suzy's second look for the evening featured a black two-piece ensemble from the French fashion house's Pre-Fall 2020 collection.
Crash Landing on You's Seo Ji Hye in Marco & Maria
A vision in white, Seo Ji Hye brought home the Bazaar Fashion Icon Award wearing an actual wedding gown from Marco & Maria's Bridal 2020 collection. And in true Seo Dan fashion, the actress did not shy away from sparkles and bling for her red carpet look.
Parasite's Park So Dam in Louis Vuitton
One could never go wrong with black, and Parasite star Park So Dam's weapon of choice was a long pleated evening dress from Louis Vuitton with frilly sleeves.
It's Okay to Not Be Okay's Seo Ye Ji in Monique Lhuillier
Another lady in black! The stars of tVN's upcoming K-drama, It's Okay to Not Be Okay, made an appearance at the awards show as the presenters of the Best Drama Award. Apart from having Kim Soo Hyun as her arm candy, Seo Ye Ji wowed the crowd in her tiered and glittery Monique Lhuillier strapless frock.
