Seoul is a buzzing city making its mark on the world with its lively music, palatable food, well-crafted dramas, and dreamy K-idols! Now, South Korea is on its way to establishing its own sartorial status. Having a unique understanding of fashion and a distinct interpretation of style, it's an emerging style haven with Seoul Fashion Week at its heart. Below are five things that happened this season:
1. Street style
While most of us believe that fashion week is all about the runway, the designers, and the models, we often overlook where the real fashion comes alive: the streets. And at Seoul Fashion Week, it was difficult to capture or encapsulate the amount of energy that the showgoers had. Not in many words or framed photos.
2. Vetements Garage Sale
Titled “Official Fake,” Parisian brand brought a capsule collection to the town of Deokso. The collection consisted of a remix of the brand’s pioneer line especially tailored for the Korean Market.
3. 99 Percent was the talk of the town.
In the spirit of Kanye West, designer Ba Jo Woo announced the details of his show last minute with the special appearance of Korean star G-Dragon.
What’s more, his runway show had models and guests smoke cigarettes and drink beers. Safe to say it was a successful party but quite a messy runway show after!
4. Vlades models danced on the runway.
What better way to end the show than with carefree models strutting their stuff on the runway?
