Apart from the dress code imposed by the HR, there are several other things you need to avoid wearing in the office. However insignificant these may seem, they can in fact affect the way you are perceived in the workplace. See our list below to avoid these blunders for good.
1. Dirty shoes
If your footwear is dirty or if the leather is already flaking off, go buy yourself a new pair, please.
It’s really awkward to see visible panty lines when you’re in a pencil skirt or a pair of slim trousers, especially if you’re scheduled to do a presentation or meet with an important client. It’s about time you invest in seamless underwear!
3. Anything that shows too much skin
You probably feel that plunging tops, sheer clothing, and skimpy skirts look good on you, and as much as we hate to burst your bubble, here’s the thing: you’re not going to a party. Be office-appropriate and keep those boobs well-covered.
4. Ill-fitting clothing
If you wear anything too tight or too loose, you look unkempt and shabby. But when you’re in a crisp white button-down and a tailored jacket, you automatically look like a big shot boss who deserves some respect.
5. Wet hair
It’s highly important to look polished in the office. Showing up to a meeting with wet hair implies that you just rushed to make it on time. Exert extra effort, blow-dry your locks, and try to look well-prepared and more presentable at work.
