If you thought University of the Philippines Diliman is the only UP campus in Metro Manila, think again. UP Manila is the oldest among UP's seven constituent universities. It's also the country’s premiere health sciences centre, if I may add.
It is understandable how most people have a hard time imagining the school's vicinity with its colleges situated in between different known establishments, such as Robinsons Place Manila, the Supreme Court, the Department of Justice, and Philippine General Hospital. Nevertheless, with the large amount of neoclassical architecture present throughout the area, it is easy to fall in love with the old Manila charm that the campus radiates. Whether you're a student or a passerby looking for a new spot where you can snap a quick photo, you'll find that this place is simply irresistible.
Check out these OOTD spots located in UP Manila:
1. Museum of a History of Ideas
Truly, this museum is a gem concealed in the middle of a bustling city. With its wide spaces, white walls, black accents, and a small patch of greenery, the minimalist aesthetic impression is strong with this one.
2. The Rooftop of Gusaling Andres Bonifacio
When there aren’t any classes ongoing, this makeshift classroom proves itself worthy to be featured next on your Instagram feed. Don’t these stacked chairs give out a jagged yet sophisticated vibe?
3. College of Arts and Sciences Parking Area
Never underestimate a parking lot's IG-worthy potential. Whether painted with colorful murals or just plain white, the walls here will make the perfect backdrop for your laid-back OOTD.
4. College of Public Health
#ThrowbackThursday OOTDs? Then head over to the College of Public Health, stat. From the columns at the opening to the street in between Lara and Calderon Halls, its architecture will surely take you back in time.
5. Exteriors of the Philippine General Hospital
With buildings that date way back in 1907, the PGH compound is indeed ancient. However, you cannot deny that its distressed walls, paired with your stylish outfit, have the power to amplify your OOTD game.
