Style Bible had a quick chat with travel photographer and blogger Kimi Juan who has mastered the art of scoring double-taps with her dreamy photos and meticulously curated Instagram grid. This wanderlust-consumed adventurer makes an ordinary camping trip look oh-so-pretty (and not to mention, IG-worthy), combining her passion for both nature and photography as she discovers our country’s hidden gems and picturesque locations.
Below, join us on a virtual adventure as Kimi lets us in on five of her most favorite destinations.
1. Mt. Pinatubo
“I absolutely love it here. It's one of the most beautiful places I've visited. The hike gets pretty intense but the view is definitely worth it!”
How To Get There: Ride a bus going to Tarlac, Pangasinan, Baguio or Ilocos Provinces and ask to be dropped off at Capas Public Market. From there, you can catch a jeepney or trike heading to Pinatubo Spa Town.
2. Mt. Batulao
“I love a good challenge, and this was the mountain that really tested my fear of heights. It was a great accomplishment and the view is beautiful at sunrise.”
How To Get There: Ride a bus bound for Nasugbu - Lemery then ask to be dropped off at Evercrest Golf Course. From there, you can either walk or ride a tricycle going to the jump-off point.
3. Buntot Palos Falls
“They call this The Hidden Falls for a reason—it’s really majestic. We hiked two long hours to get to a 90-foot waterfall. It was really very beautiful and secluded.”
How To Get There: Ride a bus heading to Sta Cruz, Laguna, then transfer to a jeep going to Siniloan and get off near Balian outpost.
4. Las Casas Filipinas De Acuzar, Bataan
“I love the mountains and the sea, but there is nothing like being immersed in history and culture. This place has the best looking old houses, a church, and a really nice view of the ocean.”
How To Get There: After passing through the North Luzon Expressway (NLEX), you can either exit through San Fernando or take the Subic-Clark-Tarlac Expressway (SCTEX) going to Dinalupihan.
5. San Juan, La Union
“This is my favorite beach destination so far. Not only is the beach the best place to surf, but there’s also a coffee shop, a cool hostel, and some really great people.”
How To Get There: From Cubao, take a bus heading to San Juan and ask to be dropped off at Urbiztondo which is right in front of the beach resorts.
