In this modern day and age, it’s fairly easy to put up a blog and become a “blogger.” With just a few clicks here and there, anyone can post anything in the world wide web. But when a well known name in the industry suddenly pops up in the bloggersphere, now that's definitely something that piques our curiosity. With that in mind, we can’t help but turn the spotlight to the beauty queen-turned-blogger, who once brought home the crown of Miss World Philippines. Just as how she impressed the judges on the runway before, she continues to astonish her readers with her stylish #OOTDs that are now one click away. This lovely lady has already shared with us her secrets to traveling in style. But this time around, we talk about beauty, fashion, blogging, and everything in between with Maggie Wilson-Consunji. Read on and see what makes her one of the coolest bloggers on the block.
Hi, Maggie! Congratulations on the relaunch of your blog! What can we expect from the brand new Haute Affair?
Thank you. You can expect more posts, not just about fashion but also about motherhood, food, travel, and beauty. I got a lot of e-mails from my readers and followers requesting that I do Vlogs. So, soon I will be doing makeup and hair tutorial videos, as well.
You are already an actress and a beauty queen. What made you want to start a blog?
It was because I was no longer a reigning beauty queen and I quit being an actress. The last TV show I did was in 2010. I quit right after and got married in December 2010. After getting married, I became pregnant. After giving birth, I wasn't used to not working. That's when I decided to start my blog. It was originally a personal diary but then people started to take notice. Soon after, I started getting e-mails requesting to write about certain topics or posts.
What makes Haute Affair different from other blogs in the world wide web?
I love receiving emails from my readers asking if I could give my suggestions on something or if I can write about a certain topic. I guess in that way, my blog is a little more interactive compared to others.
Any international bloggers you like in particular? How about locally?
Locally, I love Kim Jones' blog. I find it visually stunning. Internationally, I am a fan of Nicole Warne, Aimee Song, Negin Mirsalehi, Olivia Palermo, Michelle Phan, Thassia Naves, Chiara Ferragni and Vanessa Hong.

We know that you love traveling. Can we expect more travel posts from your blog? Where are you planning on heading to next?
Indeed. I just got back from a two-week trip to Italy, so definitely expect to see more travel posts. As for my next destination, I haven't quite decided yet on where to next since I just started in interior design school but trust that I always keep my readers and followers updated on what I will be up to next.
So what’s the first thing you did when you woke up this morning? We’d love to know about your beauty secrets!
I took a shower, got dressed, jumped in my car and went to school. My beauty regimen is pretty simple and straight-forward. I don't really have a full-on ritual. Since starting school, my schedule has been really hectic. I just do the basics, like shower, put on some lotion, wear sunblock, brush my teeth, fix my hair, and then run out the door and do my makeup in the car.
So how long does it usually take you to do your hair and makeup?
If my hair is already dry, 30 minutes tops! That's full on curl, full makeup with false eyelashes. (Laughs) As a beauty queen, I was trained to move fast and get ready [as quick as I can].
If we take a peek now at your makeup kit, what are we likely to see? Tell us your five must-haves.
My five essentials are Happy Skin's SS Creme, Happy Skin's lip and cheek mousse in Swept Off My Feet, Makeup Forever Lipstick in Mat 1, MUD mascara and VOV brow gel.
What’s your signature lipstick shade?
Makeup Forever in MAT 1 or MAT 2. I am obsessed with it and I never leave home without both! (Laughs)
Who are your style pegs?
If you can only wear one outfit for a whole year, what would that be?
An all-white ensemble.
We noticed you’re also into designer items. Can you name your three favorite designers? What do you love about them?
Tod's. I've recently found myself buying their driving shoes. They're so comfy. Tod's style is very simple yet extremely sophisticated. They have timeless pieces you can wear years down the line and would still look chic. It's great for casual chic wear. Prada is the epitome of power dressing. It’s a great mix of classic with a little bit of quirk and edge. Dior. What I love about it is that their pieces are delicate, ultra feminine and chic.
Name at least three closet staples you can’t live without.
A white polo, tailored pants, and a pair of kick ass pumps.
