Alessandro Michele resurrected our love for intricate embroidery when he debuted his much-coveted Spring 2017 collection. Along with pussy bows, ruffles, sweater vests, and basically all things now dubbed as something “so Gucci,” embroidery did a banging job at staging its fashionable comeback with chinoiserie-inspired stitches and rose-strewn articles of clothing that eventually dominated the Italian fashion house’s runways. It trickled from denim jackets and satin bombers to white sneakers and Princetown leather slippers. So naturally, other designers like Valentino, Oscar de la Renta, and Versace caught on, offering new twists in the form of elaborate beadings and sheer accents.
