It’s October, people! And you know what that means, right? The much-awaited sem break is finally here! Yes, we know it’s not for everyone, but I’m sure that like us most of you are still used to going on out of town trips or using your vacay leaves on this time of the year to get a break from whatever it is that you are doing. Some of you may already have plans, but if you have no idea yet on what to do in the following days, allow us to usher in a few suggestions.

1. GO SHOPPING
What did you expect to be on top of our list? Of course, we'd love to go shopping! With the tons of new collections now available for our taking (not to mention the opening of H&M), we're hitting the malls and we won't let anyone stop us. Whether you're looking for designer items, party heels, cool kicks, a new watch, sunnies, hats, bags, culottes, or whatever it is that you need or think you need, now is the time to do that.
2. EXPERIMENT WITH MAKEUP
You've probably been reading about all our tips, tutorials, and easy DIYs, and there's no better time to begin applying what you've learned than now. Try making your own face mask, pimple eraser, makeup brush cleaner, eyebag lightener, skin brightener, or hand exfoliant. How about practicing contouring, perfecting the eyebrow arch, or concealing unwanted spots?
3. GET A HAIRCUT
Now is the time people, if not for yourself then do it for a cause. Chop off your locks for free on the 25th of October to help spread breast cancer awareness. Or you can pay your hairstylist a visit to get highlights, add some layers, or simply get that lob you've been wanting to try.
4. CATCH UP ON SOME SLEEP
Studying for finals, training for your sport, and catching deadlines cost us all a ton of hours we could've spent sleeping. Bring back that youthful glow and freshness by getting at least seven hours of sleep while you can.
Stay active! Vacay mode doesn't mean staying in bed all day. Do something productive like hitting the gym, giving yoga a shot, trying out some dance classes or checking out what the celebs do to stay fit. And while you're at it you may want to try eating healthy for a week or two or maybe a juice cleanse, too.
6. CLEAN YOUR ROOM
You've been trying your hardest to ditch the excruciating job, but you know it needs to be done. You no longer have an excuse ladies, it's time to get cleaning. Start with your closet. First diagnose your items, then pick out which ones you need to toss, keep and donate, finally follow this diagram to make sure it stays clean and organized for the rest of the year. After your closet you can move on to fixing your makeup stash and while you're at it, pretty please throw away the expired products already—it's for your own good.
Go on a shopping trip to HK, Bangkok, or the outlet stores in Italy. Visit a place you've never been to before. It doesn't have to be out of the country; you can go on a roadtrip, embark on a food trip or just explore nearby places you've never had the chance to check out because of your busy schedule.
8. READ A BOOK
Read as much as you can! Whether it's a quiet time in your room, under the sun at the beach, or with your dog at the park, do yourself a favor and bury yourself in a really good book. Here are a few of our personal picks along with what we spotted the celebs are devouring.
9. MOVIE MARATHON
Watch a movie or ten! We bet you missed out on a lot of new releases because it was finals week or you had a presentation, now is the time to catch up. You can even get a headstart with yuletide films or simply chill in bed with a popcorn and our favorite, some fashion flicks both new and the classics.
10. PREPARE FOR HALLOWEEN
You do know that this is one of our favorite times of the year, so please put some thought into who you'll be dressing up as this coming halloween. Try out differenrt makeup looks by watching this video, cop Maleficent's fierce makeup, or dress up as a witch, just please make sure it's a stylish one at that.
11. ENROLL IN A CLASS
It doesn't matter where, stop overthinking and follow where your gut takes you. If you really want to learn about makeup then enroll in some classes, or if you've always wanted to learn how to surf then do your research. We'll be attending this year's Soul Surf Festival in La Union, you might want to check out the scene there, too, for starters.
12. BOND WITH YOUR FRIENDS
13. DO ABSOLUTELY NOTHING
No, we're not contradicting the 12 things we just suggested you try. But we want you to learn how to live in the moment and be thankful for little things in life, a.k.a. the short break. Relish on those very few days where you wake up in the morning and there is absolutely nothing to do but get that much needed R&R.
