“On the first day of Christmas my true love gave to me, a partridge in a pear tree”—we know you just sang it while reading, admit it! But while the song in all honesty is catchy, speaking realistically, pear trees don’t grow here; at the end of the day, it’s not quite our cup of tea. It’s the first week of our favorite month and we’re filled to the brim with Christmas spirit (this will go on for a few more weeks, mind you). So we thought, why not spread the cheer the way we know best? Through fashion! December has 31 days and if we do the math correctly, we would need roughly 12 outfits to get by with the month-long celebration.
End the year with a bang and stun in all those parties by scrolling down and taking your pick from our pool of certified merrymaking frocks.
ONE: SPARKLY STUNNER
Sequinned dress, P3995, Zara
The season calls for Christmas ornament-inspired pieces! Yes, we're taking it quite literally. When else can you dress up this much festive, right?
TWO: GREEN DRESS
Imitation leather pockets dress, Suitblanco
Two turtle doves won't mistake you as a tree just because you want to wear the color of the Christmas tree. This anti-fit dress with pockets(!) is perfect for the bingeing we’re all bound to do the entire month.
THREE: RED DRESS
Embellished bodycon, P1699.75, Paperdolls
Not of all us like the bloody fierceness of red, but you could make an exemption this season. It is one-half of the Christmas color duo, and it gets everyone in a loving mood.
FOUR: PRETTY SEXY
Slip dress with slits, P2995, Zara
Since when did slip dresses become so pretty? This simple frock with a low back will call everyone's attention, for the right reasons that's for sure.
FIVE: GOLD EMBELLISHMENTS
Allie lace dress in Light Blue, Ever New
Gold is another festive hue, but always remember that subtlety is key. Find one with hints of the gold pixie dust and layer on those golden accessories.
SIX: LEATHER WEATHER
Faux leather dress, Pull & Bear
Hey, Decemeber isn't only sweater weather, it's definitely leather weather, too! Now is the time to rock that leather number you've been saving.
SEVEN: PRINT PARTY
High neck print midi dress, P2990, Stradivarius
Swans are swimming, in print, that is. That chill house party may not mean you need to dress up, but punchy prints on a casual dress take it to a whole new level of festive.
EIGHT: LACY BLUE
Allie lace dress in Light Blue, Ever New
You can never go wrong with lace, but for a change go for a pastel color instead of plain black or white.
NINE: FRINGE FROCK
Shimmer fringed dress, P2995, Bershka
Nine ladies dancing? No problemo! Get people to notice you in that dress you can dance the night away in. Go for a shimmery fringe frock in icy silver and white to bring out the dancer in you without looking tacky.
TEN: WHITE SHOWSTOPPER
Long Turtleneck Dress, P1190, H&M
Make lords leap with this body hugging dress we approve of. Don’t you just love the minimalist look of this one? Very classy, hands down.
ELEVEN: POPPING PLAID
Plaid dress, P2250, Mango
As the song goes, eleven pipers piping, we couldn't help but inject a plaid print shift to the mix. Christmas cannot be complete without plaid! Go for one in the season’s colors and in a style you can use the whole year-round.
TWELVE:LBD TWIST
Twist front shift dress, Topshop
If you can’t be forced to wear a color other than black, at least opt for one with a spin on the classic LBD. Sleek but chic, twelve drummers will surely look your way when you pass.
