Whether you want to start a career as a fashion blogger or you’re simply trying to nail the perfect OOTD shot, mastering the art of striking a pose is a must. And who can better teach you these things than our top local bloggers themselves, right?
How do you take an OOTD for Instagram?
Below, score some tips from Tricia Gosingtian, Kryz Uy, Camille Co, Laureen Uy and Patricia Prieto on how to effortlessly strike a pose and look stylishly candid in your outfit photos.
Tip #1: Run your hand through your hair.
Tuck your hair behind your ears or comb through your tresses with your fingers.
Tip #2: Fake a laugh.
As if someone just told you a really, really funny joke.
Tip #3: Take a walk.
Then ask your photographer to set his camera on burst mode while you’re sashaying down the road. That should make for an awesome paparazzi shot!
Tip #4: Walk away then look back.
Think of it as if you’re mentally telling your friend to hurry up and come follow you.
Tip #5: Adjust your sunnies.
Make use of accessories! Pretend to adjust your sunglasses by lightly holding on to one side of the frame. Note: Mind how your fingers are curled.
Tip #6: Pull a hat trick.
A bowler hat or a simple fedora can also serve as the perfect accessory. Again, pretend to adjust by holding on to the brim of your hat. This works best when there’s wind blowing through your hair.
Tip #7: Twirl your skirt.
Unleash the little girl in you and go play with that flirty skirt of yours. Make sure to remind your photographer to set the camera in burst mode so that he/she captures your every little movement.
Tip #8: Put your hand inside your pocket.
If you’re wearing jeans or any pair of bottoms with a pocket on it, then good for you. Striking a pose can’t get any easier than this.
Tip #9: Lean against a wall.
It’s no secret that bloggers have a thing for walls, especially those solid-colored ones. Lean your body against a wall then look down or look away to make it seem more natural. If it helps, just pretend like you’re waiting for someone.
Tip #10: Act bored.
And this is how you nail that supposedly-candid shot!
