If you want to get that swimsuit Taylor Swift wore on her beach getaway with Calvin Harris, we suggest you purchase it, stat.
According to reports, beginning next year Victoria’s Secret will be swapping their swim line budget to beef up their activewear line, VS Sport. With the athleisure trend now topping the charts—Beyonce’s Ivy Park, Rihanna’s Fenty, and more are proof—we totally get why the company has decided to go in this direction.
Apparently, VS Swim represented roughly $500 million or 6.5% of the brand’s sales early last year, but suffered a hefty drop in August. We hear the decision was made to yield long-term benefits for the lingerie powerhouse.
And while we’ll miss the annual VS Swim Special, we’re looking forward to see how they can make us take their new activewear offerings to the streets. Hey, who knows, with the fast growth of this trend, in a week or two people could be wearing their sports bras to the beach.
