Stay fit without heading to the gym.

Since the onset of the COVID-19 pandemic, gyms have been a major cause for concern. The humid atmosphere, enclosed space, and heavy foot traffic make it primary breeding grounds for the transmission of the virus. Plus, with the enhanced community quarantine, we’ve all been advised to stay safe by staying at home.

For health buffs who prefer heading to the gym to keep active, know that you do not need to step out of the comforts of your home—or your bedroom—to get your daily adrenaline rush. There are plenty of fitness channels on YouTube that teach a variety of workouts, from beginner-friendly ones to more intense sets. They’re taught by experienced fitness trainers who provide step-by-step rundowns that make it really easy for anyone to follow. Plus, most of them wear colorful activewear and use fun playlists to make the experience more enjoyable!

Here are our favorite channels to help you get started. Ready to get into tiptop shape?

1. FitnessBlender

Perfect for those who prefer cardio workouts

Some workout videos on YouTube tend to be too chatty, so if you want to follow videos that cut to the chase, then FitnessBlender is made for you. The channel covers everything from full-length workouts (which usually last more than 30 minutes) to shorter workouts that are just as hard-hitting. Led by husband and wife duo Kelly and Daniel, the channel is best known for its cardio workouts, especially their High Intensity Interval Trainings (HIIT), a workout sesh comprised of short bursts of really intense exercises. HIIT workouts are great for boosting your endurance and burning more fat.

2. Blogilates

Perfect for beginners

Blogilates is helmed by fitness instructor Cassey Ho, who was one of the early adopters of fitness vlogging on YouTube. Her channel is perfect for beginners who aren't ready to go all-out just yet but are looking to ramp up their fitness routine. Aside from full-body workouts, Cassey releases many videos that target specific areas like the arms, back, buttocks, legs, thighs, and the core. These targeted videos usually span more than 10 minutes, making it perfect for busybees who want to squeeze in a workout at the end of the day.

3. POPSUGAR Fitness

Perfect for those who get bored easily

If you've already tried scouring YouTube for a fitness channel, then you've probably stumbled upon POPSUGAR Fitness as it is one of the mainstream fitness accounts. What's so great about POPSUGAR Fitness is its format, which doesn't feature just one instructor but a whole group, simulating a real workout class. You can choose from a variety of exercises that aren't just limited to cardio, too—there's kickboxing, barre, sculpting exercises (to tone your muscles), and a ton of dance workouts that will get you in the groove. Try it with your family at home!

4. MadFit

Perfect for those who love pop songs

Maddie Lymburner or 'MadFit' is relatively new in the YouTube fitness scene but she's already garnered 1.5 million subscribers with her short, high-intensity workouts that attack different body parts. She also conducts full-body cardio workouts that don't require much space, making it perfect to do in the comforts of your own bedroom. The best and most unique format from Maddie though are her choreographed workouts—prepare to train to the beat of pop songs from Dua Lipa, Harry Styles, Justin BieberThe Weekend, and more! They're extremely enjoyable but challenging nonetheless.

5. Pamela Reif

Perfect for the 'no excuses' health buff

Prefer workout vids that have no chitchat whatsoever so you could jam to your own playlist while breaking a sweat?
