These Women Show How Being Good at Your Job Is the First Step to Pursuing Greater Opportunities

Our careers help define who we are, but it’s not enough to just settle for one title, especially if you have the drive to achieve more. To celebrate women who are doing just this, Cream Silk launched its #ConditionedForGreater campaign, which wants to empower more women to pursue greater opportunities through online courses offered in partnership with Edukasyon.ph. At the recent campaign launch, inspiring women like Pauline Juan, Heart Evangelista, Catriona Gray, and Pia Wurtzbach offered their advice on how to go from being good to great:

1.“Remember that opportunities are there but if you’re not prepared, magic won’t happen.”

An inspiration for all Filipinas, Miss Universe 2015 Pia Wurtzbach never gave up on her dream, even if that meant joining the pageant three times before finally earning the crown. Pia stresses the importance of making room for improvement and always being ready to show what you’re capable of. “You need to be prepared all the time,” she shares.

2. “No matter what field you’re in, you have to know what you’re doing. Never stop learning.”

As former Preview editor-in-chief and now executive director of Center for International Trade Expositions and Missions (CITEM), Pauline Juan knows that learning, whether it be within the four corners of a classroom or out in the real world, never stops. “Immerse yourself in the field you want and learn everything there is to know about what you’re doing. Have the mindset that there is always something more to learn.”

3.“The dream has to be there—your vision of who you want to be. Be confident about yourself and keep going even if it gets hard.”

From being a teen actress to the successful businesswoman and artist she is today, Heart Evangelista always does her best in whatever field she decides to get into. She also remains unfazed by the challenges that come her way. Her advice: “When it gets hard, just keep going and let that be part of your story.”

4.“Realize that there is a power within you, you can be in charge of your self-development.”

Miss Universe 2018 Catriona Gray has made it her life mission to empower everyone around her by showing them the power they have to change their lives and the world around them. “Be proactive about [self-development]. Through these online mentorship programs from Cream Silk and Edukasyon.ph, you’re taking the power into your own hands and making self-development a priority.”

Are you ready to make that move from good to greater? Be inspired and watch the #ConditionedForGreater film:
