The youngest of billionaire tycoon Ramon Ang’s children, Jacob—often called Jake by those close to him—is quietly emerging as a new-generation leader within the San Miguel Corporation empire. From overseeing top luxury car brands to making a mark on the racetrack, here are five things to know about the young Ang.
Who Is Jacob Ang? 5 Things to Know About Ramon Ang's Youngest Son
1. He is the youngest of Ramon Ang’s children.
Born into one of the most powerful business families in the Philippines, Jacob is the youngest of Ramon Ang’s eight children. His father, currently worth $3.6 billion according to Forbes, serves as the chairman of San Miguel Corporation, one of the country’s largest conglomerates spanning food and beverage, energy, and infrastructure. Under Ramon’s leadership, San Miguel has expanded far beyond its brewery roots, currently overseeing massive projects such as a $15 billion airport and city complex in Bulacan and a $3 billion revamp of Manila’s international airport.
While his older brother John Paul Ang now holds the role of San Miguel’s president and COO, Jacob is slowly stepping into his own spotlight, particularly in the conglomerate’s automotive arm.

2. He’s a racecar driver.
Long before taking on a corporate role, Jacob was already making waves in motorsport. According to a 2018 report by The Philippine Star, a then-16-year-old Jacob Ang dominated the Asian Karting Open Championships in Macau, clinching multiple titles in the F125 Senior Open, F125 Veteran Open, and X30 Senior categories. Racing for the Eagle Cement Racing Team and later PSR/Petron, he earned a reputation as one of the Philippines’ most promising young karters.
His love for racing and cars wasn’t just a phase. As he told Esquire Philippines, “My dad has always nurtured my interest and passion for cars, and that’s a big reason why I’m in this industry.”

Through SMC Asia Car Distributors Corp., he also plays a strategic role in the operations of BMW Philippines.

4. He’s focused on building a legacy and not just inheriting one.
Rather than resting on the laurels of the Ang name, Jacob is intent on helping shape San Miguel’s future. He sees his role not simply as a custodian of the company’s heritage, but as a contributor to its next chapter. His leadership philosophy is grounded in humility and forward-thinking. As he mentioned in his Esquire PH cover story, “It’s really about contributing to the bigger vision he’s [Ramon Ang’s] set for San Miguel—helping build a better country.”
5. He unwinds with quiet weekends and familiar favorites.
Outside work, Jacob prefers to keep things simple. Weekends often mean golf with friends or spontaneous drives to unwind. He also frequents Tsukiji, a favorite spot known for its consistent food and laid-back atmosphere.
