While the ongoing pandemic has us itching for a vacation, we're still counting the days until we can just hop into a car and drive from Metro Manila to our favorite weekend destination. So this is the perfect time to bookmark and list down all the places you want to visit when quarantine measures are eased or lifted—and you can start with Baliraya Resort and Spa in Lumban, Laguna. Of course, don't forget to wear your mask and face shield, practice social distancing, and wash your hands wherever you go.

Baliraya takes inspiration from the tropical themes of Bali while taking their cue from the countryside charm of Caliraya Lake. You can book the whole lodge, which has six air-conditioned bedrooms and seven shared baths, for P7,020 a night. It features a swimming pool and hot tub, a dining area where you can have a boodle fight prepared or a romantic dinner set up upon request, and access to the lake for kayaking and fishing. Breakfast is included in the package.

Metro Manila is under General Community Quarantine until October 31, while Laguna is under the more lenient Modified General Community Quarantine. Non-essential entry and exit of persons from a GCQ zone to MGCQ zone is still not allowed.
