Tanay in Rizal and Sagada in the Mountain Province are known for giving tourists the best places to wake up to: amid a sea of clouds during a glorious sunrise. But somewhere in Cebu is a rustic cabin that can also give you that plus the privacy everyone needs during this period of physical distancing: La Vue Cabine in Toledo City.
Overnight rates start at P6,000 for one or two guests, perfect if you want a romantic getaway up in the mountains. You can also book for a group of four for P12,000, for six pax for P16,000, or for 12 guests for P20,000. Fees are inclusive of afternoon drinks (sikwate or honey lemonsito), dinner, and breakfast for the next day. All meals boast Sebwano specialties like humba, inun-unan isda anduhaw, linarang mamsa (sour fish stew), and more.
Aside from complete beddings, the cabin has everything you need for a worry-free stay. It has a flat-screen TV with cable, an entertainment system, WiFi, board games, a dipping pool, speakers, and karaoke to keep you entertained. There's a hot and cold shower, a chiller for your drinks, a microwave oven, and an oven toaster. If you want to spend the night under the starry sky, you can pitch the available tents or hang out in the hammock.
La Vue Cabine is in Sitio Babag 2, Barangay Pangamihan, Toledo City, Cebu. It's a one-hour drive west of Cebu City. You can hop on a Balamban-bound van from the Ayala Center Terminal along Archbishop Reyes Avenue in Cebu City, then asked to be dropped off at Cantipla Strawberry Farm.
Rates start at P6,000. For more information, follow La Vue Cabine on Facebook.
