Cebu in Central Visayas has a variety of tourist destinations perfect for any traveler: a heritage district, the most amazing white-sand beaches in Malapascua and Moalboal, and exciting trails in Badian. Add to that some of the out-of-this-world places tucked behind dense forests, such as Treehouse de Valentine in Balamban, which is located two hours away from Cebu City.
The rustic accommodation looks a lot like a treehouse you used to play in as a child, except bigger and more luxurious. It has three bedrooms, which can fit up to eight guests. There's a lot of space for just lounging around: a balcony overlooking the river, a riverside patio with hammocks, and an al-fresco area on the lower floor where there are more hammocks and wooden furnishing. It has three bathrooms, one of which has a wooden bathtub.
Since it's located in the middle of a forest, you have to be ready for encounters with spiders, frogs, and lizards. Don't worry, as the beds and the living area have mosquito net curtains and bug killer lamps to keep those away. Just imagine how great it will be when you wake up to the chirping of the birds in the morning because that's how close you are to nature.
Guests have access to the whole treehouse, all appliances (which includes the stove, microwave oven, induction cooker, charcoal grill, and all the other things you can find in the kitchen), kitchenware, and other necessities. You can cook your own meals, but traditional sinangag breakfast is also free. After a good night's rest, you can take a dip in the river right beside the treehouse.
Treehouse De Valentine is in Barangay Hingatmonan, Balamban, Cebu. It's a two-hour drive north of Cebu City. You can hop on a Balamban-bound van at the Ayala Center Terminal along Archbishop Reyes Avenue in Cebu City.
